Child Rights
Children have rights
Distinct from adults.
Children have the right
Not to be abused or exploited.
Unborn children have the right
Not to be born
Unless certain conditions are present.
The rights of unborn children include
Being wanted
By an adult mother and father
Trained in child-rearing
With the financial ability
To support a child
While free from drugs, disease
And
criminal behavior.
If children have these rights,
Some adult privileges must be curtailed
So that adults cannot have children
Unless the conditions
For the child's rights
Are present.
The ideals of family life
Demand that bringing a child into the world
Entails the supreme responsibility
Of human existence.
Adult Parents
Children should not have babies.
People need maturity
To bear the responsibility
Of raising children.
Two parents
Must be involved.
Children need fathers
As well as mothers
And fathers need parental experience
As much as do mothers.
Eugenics
Eugenics is the study of factors
That influence the hereditary qualities
Of future generations.
A social eugenics program
Could improve humanity's future
By increasing the number of children
Produced by
Superior persons
And by reducing the number
Produced by persons
Who are physically or mentally deficient.
Ethical Eugenics
An unrestrained multiplication
Of inferior mortals
Combined with the decreasing reproduction
Of superior humans
Jeopardizes the human species.
Despite the lack of competent judges
To pass upon the biologic fitness or unfitness
Of the individuals of the world,
Society should be able to agree
Upon the biologic disenfranchisement
Of the more markedly unfit, defective,
Degenerate and antisocial stocks.
Poverty and social dependence
Will never be eliminated
If the defective and degenerate stocks
Are freely supported and permitted
To reproduce without restraint.
Political correctness discourages applying
The words defective and degenerate
To fellow human beings.
The terms disadvantaged, marginalized,
Challenged, low-income or unemployed
Are more comfortable.
It is time, however, to recognize
And openly agree that some people
Are unfit to have children,
And that these people must be encouraged,
Cajoled, tempted, and if necessary forced
To refrain from reproducing.
An ethical eugenics program
Would focus on the qualities of the individual,
Not the ethnic or racial group
To which an individual belongs.
The highest types of every race
Should be encouraged to reproduce.
An ethical world eugenics program
Can and should be democratic,
With equal protection
And due process guaranteed
For
all individuals.
A New Religion
The teachings of The Urantia Book
Constitute a new religion.
Being revelatory,
The new religion does not
Align with traditional human thinking.
And, since
The revelation is a book.
It cannot be anybody’s religion.
Religion is the living spiritual relationship
With God the Father
That every believer
And religionist nurtures in his heart.
The teachings of the book
Merely describe the new religion.
They lead the reader
To a better understanding
Of his own religion.

Derives its authority
From the fruits of its acceptance
That appear in the personal
experience
Of all who become believers
In the truths
Of this higher
Spiritual communion
Of the mortal personality,
The soul
And the divine
Thought Adjuster.
Characteristics of the New Religion
Jesus never taught anything
Regarding the socialization
Of religion.
His gospel
Is the Fatherhood of God
And the universal brotherhood
Of all men.
Jesus founded his religion
Of personal experience
By doing the will of God
And serving the human brotherhood.
A Religion of Action
The new religion of Jesus
Is dynamic,
Active, and heroic.
Jesus called the
Manifestations and expressions
Of religion in the lives
Of the religionists
The “fruits of the spirit.”
One of these fruits of the spirit
Is the compelling urge to serve,
The irresistible need to act.
While the new religion is personal,
It is not introverted.
It is not secluded contemplation
And self analysis.
Jesus taught his followers
That his religion was never passive.
His disciples were to be active
And positive in their ministry of mercy
And in their manifestations of love.
The religion of Jesus
Is the most dynamic influence
Ever to activate the human race.
He shattered tradition,
Destroyed dogma,
And called mankind
To the achievement
Of its highest ideals in time and eternity –
To be perfect,
Even as the Father in heaven
Is perfect.
Mission of Religion
The goal of religion
Is to prepare man
To face the vicissitudes of life,
Bravely.
Religion is evolutionary man’s
Supreme endowment.
It is what enables man
To carry on
And endure as if seeing Him
Who is invisible.
Test of True Religion
If religion is to stimulate
Individual development
Of character and augment
Integration of the personality,
It must not be standardized.
If religion is to stimulate
Evaluation of experience
And serve as a lure to value,
It must not be stereotyped.
If religion is to promote
Supreme loyalties,
It must not be formalized.
Standards of Religion
True religion
Is the devotion of the self
To
the service of meaningful
And supreme values.
As religion evolves
In society and in each person,
Ethics
becomes
The philosophy of morals.
Morality becomes discipline
By the standards
Of
highest meanings
And supreme values –
Divine and spiritual ideals.
Religion becomes a spontaneous
And exquisite
devotion -
The living experience
Of the loyalty of love.

Nature's Secret
Nature holds a great secret.
It
is hidden in number, harmony,
Geometry and cosmology.
Evidence of some men's
Knowledge
of nature's secret
Stretches back through the mists
Of time into the Egyptian,
Babylonian, Indian, Chinese
And Mayan cultures.
There are several names
For this
secret knowledge.
It is called the golden or divine ratio,
Mean, number or section.
Ratio and Proportion
Ratio (logos – the word)
Is
the relationship
Of one number to another.
Proportion is a repeating ratio.
The designs in nature
Are not random.
Nature uses the divine ratio -
A
simple series
Of whole numbers where each number
Is the sum of the previous two

and so on).
These number sequences
Appear
everywhere in nature -
As in the family trees of bees,
In DNA nucleotides
And in chemical compounds.
Nature also uses numerical patterns
In the arrangement
Of spiraling patterns in leaves,
Flowers and fruits.

occurs through accretion.
It produces the beautiful

Without varying its proportions.
Nature uses numerous
Logarithmic
spirals in leafs, shells,
Whirlpools and galaxies.
The microcosm reflects the
macrocosm.
Melody and Harmony
Arithmetic is pure number.
Geometry
is number in space.
Spheres are number in space and time.
Harmonics is number in time.
The structure
Of both rhythm and
harmony
Is based upon ratio.
The most simple
And pleasing musical
intervals,
The octave (2:1) and the fifth (3:2),
Are the first Fibonacci approximations
To the golden section.

Consciousness
Consciousness is one

mysteries of humanity.
Like life itself,
Consciousness
results from a resonance

Living religious experience

The delicate balance between materialism

The bonding that occurs

atoms of different charges,
North and south magnetic poles,

A force which arises to balance out
The tension created by polarity.
The underlying principle
Is reflected
in the music interval,
Where two notes played together
Create a third “beat-frequency”

And reveals the exact nature
Of the relationship

Pattern and Form
The spiritual heritage

Pattern and form in the universe
Reveal

(The unity of shared quality).
The various forms of pattern and form
Appear
in the relationships to music,
Geometry, art, dimensionality,
And number theory.
The pattern of permutation
Showing
how one becomes two,
Three, and then four,
Continues on into the manifestation
Of five, six, and seven.
This pattern development
Continues
into physical patterns
Based on the decimal system of ten
(Logarithmic powers of ten),
And spiritual patterns
Revealed
in the numbers one, three,
Seven,
Eight, twelve, thirteen,
twenty one,
And thirty three.
It was this concept
Of universal
patterns and forms
That the prophet had in mind
When he said
Mankind was made in God’s image.
The Bend of the Ages
All reality
Follows the bend
of the ages.
This is the never beginning,
Never-ending elliptical cycle
Of the universes.
Upon completing the inherent
Cycle
of force,
All forms of reality/energy
Return to their source
Through their inherent gravity.
The source of any reality
Possesses
its own gravity,
Which exists as an absolute circuit
Omnipresent in time and space.
Force is the outward pushing
Masculine
(or +) quantum energy.
Gravity is the inward pulling
Feminine (or -) energy.
Both Quantum Action and Gravity
Are
density and pressure differentials
That stretch time and space
To extreme limits
And create tension.
The balancing and resolution
Of
the various qualities and values
Of these two opposites
Are funtions of duality and triunity.
